There is never a dull moment with him around. Such a little ball of energy, laughter, love, and he is quite the drama king at times. We love this little guy so much!

Backyard Improvements!!!

We finally got the backyard done!! It was a disaster when we moved in. Weeds thicker than grass, rocks everywhere, dirt, mud, prickly things, trash...etc. The list goes on. But now it's actually functional. I tried to find some before pictures but didn't have much luck. Try to ignore the rest of the picture and just look at the backyard(it was worse than these pictures when we first moved in).

Some of you readers of our blog may have noticed that I haven't updated it for about 5 MONTHS. I had a thought...most of the things I blog about or rather post pictures of, end up on facebook also. I am pretty sure that most everyone who bothers to look at my blog is friends with me on facebook. So, when they look at my blog they are probably like, "uhh, I just saw this on facebook". What's the use of doing it twice. I realized I'm not a good blogger too. ANYWAYS if anyone for some reason still wants me to keep updating this blog I will or I can just add you to my facebook. I am not against blogging(and I like to read other peoples) so just let me know if ya'll want me to keep going.

Quick update since November...

Kellen turned 3. Loved his mickey mouse cake.

We LOVE our house and Arizona. We've been doing lots of yard work and playing outside.

We have awesome amazing friends here and an incredible church ward.

We now teach the 3 and 4 year olds in church!

Bailey's now 18 months and is only 3 pounds lighter than her brother.

Eric's been playing softball.

I've been running. Hoping to find a 5k to compete in soon.

Eric starts school in July.

Just a little bit about our week...

Yesterday morning we woke up to a helicopter in the

field across the street from our house. Pretty crazy,

it was bad accident.

Eric got this Grapefruit tree a couple months ago

and had to put lights on it and a towel to keep it warm

incase it freezes at night. Oh boy! It better bring me some

delicious grapefruit!

I made Bailey a hat...

and works perfectly with the side rails going all the way around the bed.

Favorite Thanksgiving Dish...

My favorite is Sister Clark's Sweet potato casserole! For those of you who have had this know that it is amazing!! Since I tried it a few years ago, we haven't had a Thanksgiving or Christmas without it. Here's the recipe if you'd like to try...

SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes

1 cup milk

1/2 cube butter

1 cup sugar

3 eggs

mix, put in a 8 x 10 casserole pan

bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes

top:

1 cup crushed cornflakes

1 cup coconut

1/2 cup chopped pecans

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cube butter

mix, crumble on top casserole, bake for 15 more minutes

Christmas is Here!!!

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet but we just couldn't wait to put up the Christmas decorations! We got a 12' tree this year to fit nicely into our vaulted ceilings(thanks Eric's dad for helping us put it up). Kellen loves it and says, "wow, christmas tree" every time he comes down stairs.

Bailey is 1 today! I can hardly believe it! I remember the day she was born so vividly and now a whole year has gone by! She is such a sweet baby and she is VERY independent, I haven't been able to even feed her with a spoon for months, she will flash you that sweet innocent smile one minute and the next she is into the pantry pulling everything off the shelf, she was walking at 9 months, has 8 teeth, loves to chase her brother, loves to climb, read books, elmo, dance, baby dolls, eating, she is a great sleeper, very easy going and a very curious girl. We love her so much! It has been such a treat to watch her grow this past year. Here's a small look at the past year...

First of all Eric finally got his new IPHONE 4. He's gone through a lot trying to get that phone. So...I can finally post some pictures and it has a video recorder so I can post videos too! But that isn't as cool as us closing on our HOUSE today!!! Soon I will have my camera back anyway and I can post pictures that way. We move in Tuesday and are just so excited! We have been blessed in every way since we moved to AZ. The Lord has definitely watched over us and answered our prayers.

Thursday Thought

If you don't have anything nice to say...don't say anything at all.

I remembering my mother telling me this when I was little but oh it surely still applies today.

It is so easy to fall into negativity especially when you are around it daily.

Eric and I found ourselves making quick judgements about people the other day and we had to step back a minute and reevaluate what we were doing. Just because it is around us doesn't mean we should fall into it. We can rise above it and look for the good in someone rather that immediately seeing the fault.

"Often incorrect judgments are made because of limited information or because we do not see beyond that which is immediately in front of us." -Elder Gregory A. Schwitzer

It is so true. How often do we see someone and judge just by appearance or one decision. We don't know what they've been through.

We do need to judge. But judge righteously, using good judgement.

"We must judge well when making critical decisions in each phase of our life, such as choosing friends, finding an eternal companion, or choosing an occupation that will allow us to care for our family and serve the Lord."-Elder Gregory A. Schwitzer

This is true but it does not give anyone the right to look down on someone for what they have done, what they look like, how much money they have, what they buy, eat, daily activities, work...etc..the list goes on on what one could judge about.

But don't do it. Look for the good in people and the way you see the world will change...for the better.

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

Hi. Well, I'm pretty sure I knew what busy meant before we moved to Arizona, but really I had no clue. Basically here is a run down of what's been going on this past month and a half. We got to AZ safe and sound. Everything is going good. Then I have another one of my "heart attack" things(not really a heart attack but since I don't know what one feels like I will describe my pain that way). I was submitted to the HOSPITAL. Them thinking something is wrong with my heart. I got just about every test done on me and after about 48 hours I got to go home. Thankfully I just have gal stones and I was just passing some and they might have got stuck on the way down. Anyway, glad I don't have to get my gal bladder out.

Next, I get a job. Just in the meantime until Eric got one. Two weeks later he was offered TWO jobs. One being full-time with benefits and the other being as needed employee. I quit my job.

Next, we start looking for a House to buy. After doing TONS of research for good school systems and good neighborhoods and looking at quite a few houses. We made our bid. And we got it!!!!! We get the KEYS in 2 weeks!!(pictures to come).

Now we have been on Craigslist getting appliances and shopping for furniture and giving talks this Sunday(someone must have seen my thursday thought).

Anyway, all this, and in the meantime, Kellen getting POTTY TRAINED(he is now finally potty trained! Even has gone the past 3 days going #2 in the potty). Bailey started crawling not long after we got to AZ and now has taken her FIRST STEP and is trying so hard to walk. And my step dad doesn't like us living in their house(oh drama).

So...maybe in a few weeks from now we will be settled down in our own house and I will be able to breath again. By the way our house is AMAZING! I am so excited about it. Pictures might not come for a couple weeks.

I will say we have been so blessed. Came here hoping Heavenly Father will take care of us and he has. We've had some downs but the ups way overpower the downs. Eric got a full time job within 3 weeks of being here and we are able to find a house and get into it within 2 months of being here. We have attended a wonderful ward that has been so helpful and comforting through all of this. We have felt prayers for us from family and friends and know it has helped. All in all, we definitely have many BLESSINGS to count.

From the 180th April 2010 Annual General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

"For our interactions with youth to truly touch their hearts, we have to pay attention to them just as we would pay attention to a trusted adult colleague or close friend. Most important is asking them questions, letting them talk, and then being willing to listen—yes, listen and listen some more—even hearken with spiritual ears! Several years ago I was reading the newspaper when one of my young grandsons snuggled up to me. As I read, I was delighted to hear his sweet voice chattering on in the background. Imagine my surprise when, a few moments later, he pushed himself between me and the paper. Taking my face in his hands and pressing his nose up to mine, he asked, “Grandpa! Are you in there?”
Mother, Father, are you in there? Grandpa, Grandma, are you there? Being there means understanding the hearts of our youth and connecting with them. And connecting with them means not just conversing with them but doing things with them too."

It is our imperative duty to help the youth(any youth we are in contact with not just our own kids) to understand and believe the gospel in a deeply personal way. The influence we may have on the youth can be the difference between them following the Lord or falling away from Him. The greatest work we will ever do is to help a lost soul to find the Lord and to help a their testimony become immoveable.

Call me crazy but I like to write talks(as if I were going to speak in church) to help me study and understand better a topic(don't tell my bishop). Anyway, I was looking back in my journal and I found this quote. I love it and it is so uplifting. Every time I read it, it helps me push forward through any trial or struggle and just want to do better to be a better person than I was before. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

We made it to Arizona! The move went really well. We had tons of help and the drive was pretty good for a 13 hour drive with a 7 month old and a two year old. Actually they were angels the whole way. Really. I don't know what happened but neither of them fussed the whole time except Bailey when she got hungery. We must have had a lot of prayers. Thanks everyone.

Anyway, we've had a few set backs while being here, but everything is good now and we are on our way, moving forward. Looks like I will be getting a job until Eric finds one. I've had a couple salons offer me a job, I just have to figure out which one I want.

Eric has been applying like crazy and faxing resumes...etc. He is under review for a few different jobs. We are just anxious for him to get one so we can save some money while staying with my parents so we can buy a home!

We put our camera somewhere in a box which is in storage, so sorry there will be no pictures for this post. On the up side we are getting the new iphone 4 soon so I will then be able to take some pics and HD videos!

It is so awesome being here in AZ. It is hot but not bad in the morning and evening. Kellen has been playing in his plastic pool on the patio every evening and loving it. There are also little splash parks everywhere we've taken the kids to, and they are free. Gotta love free fun!

Bailey has been pulling herself up to everything and letting go! She just wants to walk all over the place while holding our fingers. She is now army crawling and has another tooth on the bottom and getting more on the top. She is still about 21 pounds and such a cute little chunky marshmallow.

My husband read this poem to me the other day and I wanted to share it. It is a pretty known poem so most of you have probably heard it. I like the idea of sharing some of the things that inspire me. I think I am going to try to share something once a week. We will see if I can keep that up. I'll call it Thursday's Thought.

Crochet Projects

It's the little things that make a small space stand out. I love toilet paper holders. I remember my grandma always using them in her house. What a good idea grandma. So I decided to try one out for myself.

I am really bad at following crochet patterns. I always just make up my own, but I thought I would try one out. It didn't last. I ended up taking some of it apart and doing my own thing. The rug didn't turn out the best but it could be worse, I could have continued to follow that pattern.

This was a fun new experiment. A crochet wreath. I'm not to sure what to think yet. I just need to figure out where I am going to put it now.

It's Official...

In only 22 days...We are finally moving to Arizona!! I thought the day would never come but it is finally almost here!

Eric will be attending school in July 2011(hopefully, he has to get accepted first) but we need to move there a year early to get residency(unless we wanted to pay like $10,000 more). The program he will be in is just one year long and then he will be a Radiation Therapist.

We will be staying at my mom's house when we get there until Eric can get a job, then hopefully we can get a house.

There are a lot of things that we are counting on to happen. It's a little scary but we are excited to move forward! We have prayed a TON and really feel good about the move. We just need to trust in The Lord and know that whatever happens is for the best.

We are sad to leave family and friends in Idaho but happy to be around other family in AZ.

Please keep us in your prayers as we start our new adventure. I'll keep you all updated of the progress.

6 Months!!

I can hardly believe Bailey is 6 months already! She is so sweet and such a joy in our home. Here are a few things about her: she sits up well, loves to eat(haven't found a baby food she doesn't like), rolls all over to get where she wants to go, loves her jumper, loves to watch and play with her brother, pushes off the ground while on her tummy in an attempt to get to toys, puts everything in her mouth, has TWO teeth, squeaks when she laughs, loves the bath and pool, and likes to scream(mainly when she is happy, she likes to experiment with those lungs).

Weight - 19lbs - 95th percentile, Height - 26inches - 55th percentile

My previous bow holder just didn't have enough room for all of Bailey's bows, so here is my solution...

I bought a big frame at DI for $1.50, it had an old cardboard picture in it. I bought some fabric at Joanne's with my 50% off coupons. Total: about $5.00. I covered the frame with one fabric and then covered the cardboard with the other, hot glued the ribbon to the back of the covered cardboard and Walla! a new framed bow holder.

I'm glad most of her bows fit( I am currently redoing a lot of bows that I made when I was learning how to do them, making them cuter. I might have to make another framed bow holder.)

I saw someone with a hat like this and thought I NEEDED to try it out...I did and...

...I love it!

Life's been busy as normal, however, things have been a little extra exciting...

Bailey and Kellen got bronchiolitis and Bailey got an ear infection from it. Eric had to take a couple days off to help with the kiddos, they were really bad. It's weird because Kellen never gets sick, this is only his 3rd sickness ever. They are both doing well now.

I have started to exercise again. Yay! I finally found some energy again after having a baby. I have decided to train for a 5K. I never have ran in a race before, should be fun, some motivation to work harder. I love to run. Shouldn't be too hard to get back into it, hopefully.

I'm probably going to delete my blog with the bow and hat selling. I like to do it but sometimes it gets too busy and starts to not be fun anymore. However, if someone still really does want some bows or hats, I'll still be happy to make it.

I have loved learning to do new things. So, as of lately I have tried to get more familiar with my sewing machine and learning how to make adult crochet hats and bigger cuter bows and there will definitely be more to come.

I have started Bailey on some baby cereal. She loves it! She wants to nurse all the time, so I figured I'd give her something else in that tummy and give mommy a little break every once in a while. 4 months already and she is doing great! Rolling over from tummy to back and from back to tummy, has the cutest laugh, smiles often, starting to like the bath finally, loves her jumperoo and tummy time, she's only waking up 1-2 times at night to eat now, and is just the sweetest little girl ever! At her check up she was 16 lbs and 14 oz. - 90th % for weight, 24 1/2 inches - 50th % for height.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day! I made T-bone steak and cheesecake. Eric got me flowers and chocolates. I got him a couple of shirts. Kellen got a new movie and some Buzz candies. Bailey got really spoiled and we got her a jumperoo. I love Valentine's Day and the opportunity to show my love for my family in a little bit different way, by spoiling them!

Little Miracles

So, you'll never guess...I got to go to Relief Society today!! That's right Kellen actually went to nursery. I'm not sure if it was that he got less t.v. this week so he has learn to entertain himself more or the fact that there was a different lady in nursery that was able to help Kellen when he realized Eric had slipped out of the room or was it something else? Eric and I were wondering if maybe there was a reason Kellen wasn't going to nursery, like maybe there was a lesson in there somewhere that WE needed to learn. So we asked ourselves what are we supposed to learn from this situation? The best we could come up with was maybe it was a test of our faith? So a few days ago we really decided to pray hard that Kellen would go to nursery and that we would have the faith that The Lord would help the situation if it was His will(other wise this wasn't the lesson we were supposed to learn). So today I would like to think that I have witnessed one of those little mirales in our lives and have a bit of a better testimony on how "trials make your faith stronger".

Help or Hindrance

I have been busy with the bow making. It has been fun. Hence, the neglected blog. Oh well. Not much going on. Same ol' same ol'. I have decided to cut Kellen's TV time. It was okay with me for him to have that distraction when Bailey was first born because I wouldn't be able to give him ALL my attention, however, it has gotten out of hand. It is too easy to just pop in a movie and not have to worry about entertaining him, but I think it's starting to be more of a hindrance.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not so those of you experienced parents let me know...First of all, Kellen will hardly play in his room alone. Eric or I have to be in there with him, even if we are just sitting on the bed watching him play. If we leave, he will just follow us out and whine for us to come back in. Second of all, Kellen will not go to nursery at church unless Eric or I is in there with him(no, it doesn't help that the nursery leaders don't try to distract him when we leave, that's a whole other story). Anyway, he has some separation anxiety OR maybe he is just used to being entertained(TV) and not having to entertain himself. He doesn't talk a ton yet, still a lot of jibberish although he does seem to learn a few new words everyday. And this is probably just his personality but Kellen is so A.D.D., even when he watches a movie, he is jumping on the couch or acting the movie out etc...

So, two movies a day is what I've cut it down to and the past couple days of this has been great!

Now that Bailey and Kellen have a routine down, Kellen and I have an hour or so everyday, just the two of us, to make playdo or go outside or read or whatever and the rest of the day he is on his own(for the most part). One movie before nap time and one before bed and it has been a success. He realizes that when I say no more movie, he has to do something else, because whining for a movie for a few moments gets boring when you don't get it. He has played in his room with out me!

I know it seems minuet to celebrate over this silly thing but I hope it leads to other break throughs. Like maybe I'll actually be able to go to Relief Society.

I have much to blog about and even much more pictures. We got the opportunity to spend a week in Phoenix visiting family. We much enjoyed the weather in the 70's and took advantage of it all we could. The events included Chuck E Cheese's, Zoo lights, an early b-day party for Kellen, Eric went golfing with Lloyd, several park trips, the outlet mall, yummy food, peanuckle, and fun memories with the family. The kids did really on the plain and loved spending the week with G'ma and Papa. When we got home we had some more fam over to celebrate again for Kellen's #2. He loved unwrapping and getting a bunch of new toys. Thanks everyone for all the gifts and the fun times.

We had to get Bailey's 2 month check up 2 weeks early because of the holidays. So, here are the stats...

12.9 pounds - 75th percentile

22 inches - 25th percentile

38 cm head circumference - 25th percentile

She is very chunky and I love it! Maybe if we got her checked a couple weeks later she would have been right up there with how big Kellen was(14lbs at 2 months). She is mostly all belly and all cheeks. Her smiles are a rare occasion, she is vary serious(opposite of Kellen). She loves to cuddle(also opposite of how Kellen was). Hates her bath, loves to eat, loves her swing(a life saver), a wiggle worm, sleeps about 3 hours at a time at night, likes tummy time, spits up often, loves music, and watching her big brother.

Okay...So incase anyone was wondering...Here are the baby story details...Eric's parents came Oct. 29th and stayed the night to be with Kellen the next morning. Eric and I left for the hospital at 6:50 am on Oct. 30th as planned. Basically everything went step by step as planned. We checked in, got our room, paper work, blah blah blah, prep for surgery, and out Bailey came at 9:18 am. Actually a little ahead of schedule. I didn't feel any of the surgery and was conscious and very relaxed, actually, the whole time. It was a rather nice experience. Bailey went right to the well baby nursery. I went to the recovery room for about 45 min.(until I could wiggle my toes), then back to our room. I was up and walking about 8 hours later. I was finally able to eat something the next morning. The morphine was making me nauseous but as soon as they took me off I was 100% better. I went home that evening on the 31st(thank goodness, those hospital beds are so uncomfortable). So, in and out in less than 2 days and a beautiful healthy little girl to show for it. I am also doing great(it might be a few weeks before I can start some cardio again), but all in all a great very fast recovery.

Kellen is adjusting really well. When he first saw Bailey and I he first said "baby" and then wanted to give her a kiss and then I was next in line. He gets a little jealous but most of the time just ignores his sister. I'm just glad nap and bed time hasn't been effected for him. I just feel so blessed to have everything going so well. Thanks for all of your prayers and help.

It's kinda crazy thinking that there is only 1 more week left until I get to hold my little baby girl! Time has flown by thank goodness. It's probably because I have kept pretty busy with the whole crocheting thing. I have to admit, it is really addicting. So, here are some pictures:

It's been a good week. Kellen got to test out his new snow suit. We got snow for 2 days. Most of it was wet snow so it melted quickly but Kellen loves to be outside so we are glad we got the suit early.

Too bad his snow boots didn't get here in time but he wanted to try them out anyway.

Kellen's favorite phrase right now is "I play ball" Partly because he loves balls but also he loves to watch daddy play the wii and pretend he is playing right along with him.

We got another ultrasound on Saturday just for fun. Our baby girl was already measuring 5 pounds and 11 ounces. I'm guessing she will be around the same a Kellen was(6lbs. 14oz.). We will see...only 3 weeks left!

Well, I have gotten a little better at my crocheting attempt.
I've figured out how to make some hats(they aren't the best pattern but it was a beginner one).
The little flowers and butterflies will be cute to put on them.

2 more weeks have come and gone just like that. Only 4 weeks left and hopefully she will stay in there until then. We have the surgery planned for October 30th and it would make things a little crazy if she came before then. As far as health is concerned, both mommy and baby are looking great. I am measuring right on and the baby's growth and development are perfect. I have to go in to the hospital every week until she is born for a Non-stress Test because she only has a 2 vessel cord(instead of 3 vessels), which they say can cause the baby not to grow as fast, but all has been well and looks to continue to be that way.
I have tried to keep myself busy with some different projects and just getting the final things ready for the baby. Here are some pictures...

Besides the fact that I am very large and pregnant and still have 6 weeks left, I have decided that I really don't have much worth while to complain about. So instead, I have decide to count my blessings(hopefully it will bring my spirits up).
Why my life is pretty much amazing:
1. My husband has a full time job at Portneuf, he's not in school anymore, and we get to be with him for 7 days straight on the weeks he is off.
2. I have an awesome apartment with all of my needs met and more in a great neighborhood with an good church ward.
3. I am surrounded by amazing family and friends who are always willing to help or just be there to have a good time with(it's good to know you are there for us even if we don't ask for help too often).
4. I have the sweetest husband in the whole world who is willing and does sacrifice so much to keep Kellen and I happy(especially me being my grumpy moody pregnant self).
5. My little boy is healthy and happy and makes me smile everyday. He is so fun and helps me realize what really matters in life. It is so amazing watching him grow and learn everyday.
6. I will stop with this one, not because I don't have anymore blessings but because it is definitely the greatest blessing of them all. I know who my Savior is. I know of His love and can feel His guidance in my life daily. I have His word and am able to study and ponder daily of Him and know He is waiting with His hands stretched out(because if I miss a day of study, my day pretty much seems to always be a lot harder). I am so blessed to be able to be with my family forever.
I seriously don't see how I have anything to complain about. "When life gets you down, just keep swimming."(-Dori from Finding Nemo, Kellen's favorite movie right now). Really though, it will come to pass, whatever it may be and in the mean time remember what really matters most...

I guess everyone has a little craftiness in them. I think I am getting somewhat better. I have been attempting to make hair bows. Alot of trial and error, but I think I am finally getting the hang of it(any tips would be appreciated). I have some cute headbands I am going to be able to clip them to if she doesn't have any hair, but if they look funny I do have some flowers that are really cute to put on the headbands.

This past month I have also made some blankets. The rag quilt was a little harder but they were all pretty easy to do(I try not to get things too complicated). And of course what would you do without burp cloths. I made them yesterday. (Incase anyone is interested, Joann's has 50% off all of there flannel right now)

So, I have kept pretty busy this past month. Along with moving and unpacking and oh, our dishwasher doesn't work. They are supposed to put a new one in today(crossing my fingers). Hopefully I've left enough to keep myself busy for the next 8 weeks when the baby comes. I think all I have left is to wash the new clothes...

Well, it has been a good few weeks. We are very much enjoying our new apartment(especially the a/c with this warm weather lately). Everything is put away and has its place. We had a fun 1st annual family reunion at Eric's parents house with his brother's and sister's families(we sure missed the one's who couldn't make it). I have made a few baby girl blankets and gone shopping for some cute little girly pink outfits(always fun). I have started exercising again(just walking with Kellen with the stroller in the evening). I have started to feel a little guilty about all this eating and not much working out. Kellen has been such a good boy through all the changes and busyness going on. We're Moving!!!

Finally we are moving! No, not to Arizona yet (still waiting for a job before we can move down there), but we are moving about 5 minutes up the road. We are finally upgrading. I am so excited. We will have larger bedrooms, closets, kitchen, dining room, air conditioning, DISHWASHER!, laundry very close, playground right outside, upkept landscape, better neighbors, and the list goes on... So, we are packing up and moving on August 13th!!!

Anyway, on to other things... I made this super cute fleece hat for our little one. It only took me like 5 minutes to make. (I wonder if I could sell these...hummmm)

Kellen got a new bike and as you can see it has a handle for me to hold on to to steer him until he gets used to it and then it comes off. So far he loves it.

We finally got to the lake this summer. It was a great day to relax and enjoy the perfect weather.

Kellen loved running down this big hill, but Eric had to be ready to catch him after he ran down so fast that he did a summer salt on the way down. He thought is was quite fun, but we didn't want a broken little boy.

Ultrasound and Arizona

The rest of the week we spent in AZ spending time with my mom and step dad and sister. Let's see... It seems like this month was crazy busy but now that I think about it, actually not too much has happened. So, I really don't have a good excuse for not blogging. Basically, Eric and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. We did some much needed spring cleaning and organizing last week and re-arranged things. Kellen is now in a twin bed and loving it! And finally, we spent some time Sunday with family for Father's Day. Other than that, just doing pretty much the same old thing.

Washington Trip

We were able to go to Washington to visit family for a week and a half at the end of May and we had a blast! First we went to Richland to visit Eric's Brother's family along with aunts and cousins and grandma and more. Kellen had fun time playing with his cousin Levi who is 10 months older than him.
Next we drove over to the Seattle area to visit some of my family. We stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and then with my dad and his wife. Grandpa showed Eric how to turn a Kellen a baseball bat on his lathe. They also took us to the Seattle aquarium and to eat at Iver's(Seattle pictures are to come). Dad had a huge BBQ for us with lots of stake and lots of family. Tammie(dad's wife) and Grandma(dad's mom) surprised us with some very fun baby girl items(thanks again)! And to top the trip off we went with Dad and Tammie to the ocean before heading home.
Over all we had an awesome time!
On the way home we drove through Spokane and met with a guy who had just what we were looking for and was selling it for a steal of a deal! We finally have two cars now! Let me tell you, it is so nice to have them both now. I will post a picture of the car soon. It is a 2007 Nissan Altima, and so far we are in love with it.

Before I get to the baby stuff, Eric passed his National Registry test yesterday with a 92%!!! Good job honey! He is now a certified Rad Tech. WooHoo!!

So, that is my excuse for not updating by blog in a while(sorry mom). The truth is I haven't really felt up to much of anything lately, but the first trimester is over! and I am beginning to feel like I have a bit more energy not to mention the medicine the doctor gave me for my headaches has made things more bearable. I didn't realize how bad my head hurt all the time until I started taking the meds. Anyway, I'm feeling good now, that's the important part. If you are wanting to see belly pictures I will post some on Tuesday along with the ultrasound that will tell the SEX of the baby! I can hardly wait!

Ok, exciting news!! Eric took the walk today for graduation! My husband is now a graduate with a bachelors degree in Radiographic Science and I am so proud of him and all his hard work to get where he is today. We are so excited to be able to start to see each other more(finally!).

Preggo Update

So, I have been feeling really well minus the headaches, but not complaining considering last time around I couldn't get off the couch without getting sick and that was for the entire first 4 months. Anyway, we went in to get another ultrasound today(it is always so amazing). Last time I was measuring one day later than I thought, and this time a whole week, at least. She was all curled up so I could be even further along than 11 weeks. First trimester almost over! Yay!! So... here is the little miss in action...

Time has flown by and I can hardly believe my baby is 15 months today! He sure makes me smile with all of his silliness there is never a dull moment and I always get a good belly laugh everyday. Kellen is so smart, athletic, and big huge goof ball. Here is what he has been doing lately...

He loves to play ball. He's got quite the arm and as of late
he now kicks the balls across the room. And get this...
he can catch really well too. Not just bigger balls, but he

we make a bad pass he will lean down to grab it!

Other things he loves to do: talk... well, in his own special Kellen gibberish language, he does say quite a few words but would rather gibber jabber. Loves to dance, be outside, play with kids (he will run from one end of our complex all the way to the other following the kids voices), eat strawberries and grapes, drive cars around making an "rrrrrrr" noise, give zuberts, and of coarse smile and laugh. You can't help but chuckle when you hear this kid laugh. I love my little Kellen! What did I ever do before him?

I've been really good since I found I am prego. Eating healthy, cutting out the empty calories and such, but last night I just couldn't fight the craving. It's like I couldn't control it. Usually I can have a banana or something sweet like that to satisfy the sweet tooth, but nope not this time. And because I have NO junk food what so ever in my house, I made my favorite cookies(good thing I had all the ingredients). Maybe I should keep some low fat frozen yogurt around for next time or something that doesn't call for a whole stick of butter.

Kellen has no idea what's going on but hopefully toward delivery date he might get it a little. Anyway, that tiny dot on the left side of that black circle is her.

Some of you already know that we are expecting another baby, but for those of you who don't know, this is the announcement! We are really excited. I am really thinking it's a girl. I totally knew Kellen was a boy so hopefully I will be right again. I went out and bought tons of boy clothes before we found out Kellen was a boy. I just knew. Anyway, a girl would be awesome, but I would love another little boy too(especially one as cute as Kellen). We are going in to get an ultrasound on Saturday, so I will post the proof then. :)

He actually started to climb on the top shelf before I grabbed him. My little climber can now get on top of the chairs to the table and then on top of the table. He also climbs on to the computer desk chair and "types" on the keys. He likes to open dresser drawers and climb into them also. Not to mention the stairs, couch, out of the tub, and pretty much anything else that gets in his way.

The neighbors behind us have three dogs that bark pretty loud. Kellen always loves to look out the window and watch them, and every time he hears them bark he looks toward the window with excitement. Well, a couple weeks ago he started saying, "daw, daw..." (in a high pitched voice of course) when the dogs would bark. I wasn't sure if he really was trying to say dog or was just babbling, but he has done it now for two weeks. I do read him animal books with dogs in them and he does have some learning videos with dogs. Anyway, I pretty sure his first real word other than dada, mama, and ba(ball) is dog. (sorry you can't hear the dogs in the video but you'll know when they bark...)

Is winter over yet???

It is official. Kellen has cabin fever, and I'm pretty sure I do too. About 3 times a day we have to stand at the window and look outside for about 5 minutes each time so Kellen can pound on the window and dream of going out to play. Throughout the day he just sits and looks out watching the squirrels and such. It's pretty sad not to mention every time the front door gets opened he bolts for the door and then cries when it gets shut. I have bundled him up a few times and have let him crawl around outside but lets face it, it's so cold! More than 10 minutes out there and your nose hairs are frozen. Anyway, we have found a few fun activities indoors to keep us sane. Like the one in the picture. Playing on the couch takes up at least an hour throughout the day. So, I was wondering if anyone could help us out with some fun indoor activity ideas. PLEASE!!!

Kellen is my first so I'm not sure if some of the things his does is normal for a 1 year old to be doing or if Kellen is just extra goofy. Check out the pictures below and you can see what I mean (there's a bunch of them).

Kellen turns 1 today! We had a fun party for him on Saturday. He had a fun time for the most part. He wouldn't touch his cake for some reason. It is crazy how fast 1 year goes by! He has been the best! We don't know what we would ever do without him and are excited for the years to come! Love you Kellen!

We took Kellen to the mall today to get a Santa picture. Of course as soon as I put him in Santa's lap he started screaming for his life, but look at this Santa, I think I would cry too if I had to sit on this guys lap. He doesn't look to jolly does he? Anyway, we got a picture with Santa. I don't think Kellen was too traumatized.

Thanksgiving in Arizona

We had so much fun in AZ! It was nice spending our time in the sunny 70-80 degree weather instead of the freezing weather in Idaho. We did lots of shopping, eating, playing games, Eric and Dad went golfing, and it was nice just to spend time with each other. It was definitely worth the 13 hour drive there and 13 more back. Kellen does so well traveling he didn't even cry once (the dvd player did help a little).

I told Eric that his Christmas present to me this year could be new bedding. Because our bed looked so frumpy. So, we looked at some things that I liked but they were all SO EXPENSIVE. I decided I could just try and make the pillow cases, bed skirt and decorative pillows. It was a stretch because I have never done anything like it before, but it turned out so good! But we still had the old quilt with squirrels on it and our old worn sheets to consider. I decided to take off the quilt and then I found 600 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets and pillow cases on sale at the mall for only $20! Merry Christmas to me! Over all cost: $55. (Wondering why it's on the bed already, well, I couldn't wait all the way to Christmas to put it on)

We had family pictures taken on Saturday. It went okay. It was really cold and Kellen wasn't very happy so he didn't take the best pictures but what can you do. Over all I think we got some good ones. These are a few of them. I had to make the quality not as good or it would have taken me all day to post them. They are originally like 5 MB each! Barack Obama our 44th President of the United States!!!

I waited in suspense to hear from our new president last night and I would have waited all night to hear those words he spoke. He talked of unity no matter who you are or what your background, he suggested that we needed to summon a new spirit, a spirit of service and sacrifice, he was real, he showed not only in his words, but in his eyes, his concern and care for Americans. All Americans. He said that we needed to not only look after ourselves but that we needed to start looking after each other. Those of you who were watching felt the energy and excitement. Obama is right when he said that we have a new energy to harvest. Never have I been so affected by a political leader. I want even more than ever to harvest my energy, harvest it to Americans to all people to help and to truly support our President to CHANGE this nation. That is the key. I hope we can all become unified and support and take Obama's words to heart to have the determination to heal the devices that has held back our progress. I know most of you were for McCain and he is a great leader, but I hope you can all look forward to what is happening now and support and do all you can to help our great new President Barack Obama. YES WE CAN!
